It’s been a fantastic wrap-up to the week for Alex de Minaur and Katie Boulter. The couple both emerged victorious in their respective Tour events in a rare feat achieved by tennis players dating.

The Aussie was the defending champion at the 2024 Acapulco Open. Seeded third, he made his way to the finals after some big wins that included his quarter-final victory over Stefanos Tsitsipas. Up against three-time Grand Slam runner-up Casper Ruud, de Minaur won the match 6-4, 6-4 to retain the title.

Boulter was in another part of the North American continent. The Briton was playing at the 2024 San Diego Open and despite being unseeded, she defeated three seeds to reach the finals. She faced the in-form Marta Kostyuk in the finals and despite losing the first set went on to clinch the title.

The WTA-500 San Diego title became Boulter’s second career title and the biggest so far. The same was the case for de Minaur who also won his second ATP-500 title with both wins coming in Acapulco. What made the title special for Boulter was her boyfriend’s special effort.

The 25-year-old’s official ceremony and press conferences finished sometime around midnight. He then rushed to the airport to catch an early morning flight to make it in time for Boulter’s finals in San Diego. Boulter gave a special shoutout to de Minaur for his efforts during her winner’s speech as well.

The current ATP World No. 10 had made a startling revelation about his plan to propose back in January this year. With the couple now dating for three years, it won’t be a surprise if they do make another official announcement.

Alongside Tsitsipas and Paula Badosa, the two are currently one of the biggest power couples in tennis at the moment. With the likes of Steffi Graf and Andre Agassi setting a big example, a proposal from the in-form Aussie will certainly leave fans in awe of them.

Alex de Minaur and Katie Boulter to share a joint schedule this month

As the tennis action now moves to the USA, it will be a good time for de Minaur and Boulter. The couple can spend their time together as only two events are lined up for the entire month of March.

The proceedings begin in California with the 2024 Indian Wells Open. The 1000-rated event for both ATP and WTA Tour commences on 6th March and concludes on 17th March. Following this, the action will shift to the 2024 Miami Open which is scheduled between 20th to 31st March.

With both of them coming fresh from Tour wins, deep runs will be certainly expected. While Boulter is yet to reach a final at the WTA-1000 events, the Aussie will try to use his experience from the 2023 Canadian Masters where he finished runner-up.
