Could Rams Sign Broncos Free Agent Justin Simmons After Release?

The Denver Broncos revealed on Thursday that they were releasing veteran safety Justin Simmons after eight seasons with the team. With the Rams desperately needing help with their passing defense, the four-time All-Pro could be an intriguing fit.

Simmons made the Pro Bowl and was Second Team All-Pro for the fourth time, despite him being 30 years old. 

He only had three interceptions this season, which is a bit underwhelming compared to the six he had in 2022, but he could still provide a veteran presence to any team that wants to sign him.

He finished with 70 total tackles, a bit lower of a number, but it comes as a result of him missing a couple of games. He has consistently been one of the best safeties in the entire NFL for the last couple of seasons and could be a big part of a defense that wants to help their team contend.

With how young the defense of the Rams is, and how badly they need help in the secondary, Simmons could be a decent option. 

But whether the team decides to draft help or sign a free agent like Simmons, the passing defense needs to be addressed if the team wants to be a serious contender this upcoming season.
