According to our NBA 2K24 Simulation, the New York Knicks will defeat the Indiana Pacers by a score of 107-102. Thanks to a strong first quarter performance from New York, the Knicks managed to keep or remain close to the lead to never fall back. Indiana played well, but spent much of the game (especially the end) playing catch up. Furthermore, solid performances from Jalen Brunson and Isaiah Hartenstein led to a Knicks victory.

New York started off strong, taking a 25-18 lead in the first quarter. However, the rest of the game seemed pretty even. Both teams tied out in the second and third, and the Pacers finally managed to outscore them in the fourth. However, their efforts were in vain, as New York held them off long enough to emerge victorious.

Furthermore, the Knicks were much more successful when it came to Field Goals, and also converted more field goals. Additionally, they converted a higher percentage of 3PT shots, with a team average of 47%. These better statistics might not seem too great, but it was the slight difference that gave New York the edge in this one.

In terms of player performances, both Brunson and Hartenstein deserve the game ball. Brunson scored 44 points while adding 10 rebounds to his stat sheet. Hartenstein, meanwhile, recorded 20 points along with 20 rebounds (with 2 blocks to boot). These two double-double performances helped the Knicks secure a solid game 1 victory over Indiana.

As for the Pacers, it seemed only Tyrese Haliburton and Pascal Siakam played well. Haliburton ended the day with 33 point and 11 assists. However, he only converted 3-of-10 3PT Conversions, two of which would’ve helped his team win the game. Nevertheless, he did force a steal and a block, and played well through all phases of the game.

With the win, New York secures a victory at home and starts the series off strong. However, the road only gets more difficult here. Preferably, they need to win their next home game and remain undefeated until at least playing in Indiana. Taking a swift lead in the series should demoralize the Pacers, and hopefully lead to less injuries for the Knicks.

As for the Pacers, a close loss away isn’t terrible. However, now is the time to pick up the pieces and come right back. Earning just one win in New York during this stretch should help the team feel confident when they head back home. However, if they enter their home stadium down 2-0, it might just be preferable to play away at that point. The fans would definitely not be happy.

In terms of accuracy, we believe our scoreboard results look a bit more authentic than before. However, we can only use the most updated rosters provided to us by 2K. When trying to create a custom roster to account for injuries, the game would crash multiple times and end the stream. While we’d like to create the most realistic match setup as possible, we also want to actually watch these sims finish. Regardless, we had a blast watching, and hope to tweak the settings to make it even more accurate.
