Twins activate Polanco, send Julien back to St. Paul
USA TODAY Sports

Jorge Polanco has been activated from the injured list and the Twins have optioned infielder Edouard Julien back to Triple-A St. Paul.

Polanco missed the past two weeks with a hamstring injury and he's only played in 23 games this season due to lingering injuries. But when he's been in the lineup he's been one of Minnesota's most consistent hitters, slashing .284/.327/.484 with four homers, seven doubles and 14 RBI.

Julien, an on-base machine in the minors, hasn't had that ability transfer to the big-league level yet. The 24-year-old has hit just .210 in 19 games with the Twins, though he's flashed potential with four of his 13 hits going for home runs.

At Triple-A St. Paul this season Julien is has a .924 OPS and an impressive .442 on-base percentage, highlighted by 31 hits and 27 walks in 138 plate appearances.

The Twins open a four game series against Cleveland Thursday in Minneapolis.
