Dennis Dixon, a QB on the Steelers, wants to start for the Steelers until Ben Roethlisberger comes back from his suspension. Or, at least his agent wants him to start.
In an interview with the Pittsburgh Tribune Review, Dixon's agent, Jeff Sperbeck, doesn't understand why Dixon did not get more reps with the first team during the OTA's. He also doesn't understand why Byron Leftwich is ahead of Dixon on the depth chart.
What Mr. Sperbeck may not understand is that the Steelers coaching staff has made their decision (so far) to have Leftwich start in front of Dixon. You really shouldn't be calling out the coaches on their decision, since they don't answer to you.
He believes that Dixon should be given the opportunity to start. Of course he's going to believe and say that, since Dixon is his client. He's not really helping him, though, by airing this out in the press when maybe he should be addressing the situation with the Steelers brass.
Dixon may be the future of the Steelers, but he is not the immediate future for them. He still has Leftwich and Roethlisberger in front of him.
